DP World's hydrogen RTG
DP World's hydrogen RTG

There is simply no ignoring the push for a greener, more sustainable materials handling equipment industry as manufacturers and customers alike seek eco-friendly solutions to reduce or eliminate carbon emissions.

In this week’s Forkliftaction News we report on DP World’s successful testing of its own hydrogen-fuelled, rubber-tyred gantry cranes (see story) at the Port of Vancouver and its position on electrifying its global 1,500 RTG fleet.

We also look at EP Equipment’s introduction of a new classification system for its vehicles with the launch of its Green Range, which repurposes old forklifts into new lithium-powered machines (see story).

It will be fascinating to see what “green” changes are introduced to the market in the next year and we look forward on reporting on them.
