Discussion:
Transmission Issue

Need help! Have a Yale Serial: A910V15859H. Lift has 1850 hours. The VSM shows codes 524225-0 and 524223-0. VSM will stop trans operation intermittently and truck disabled is shown on display. Cycle key switch and problem is corrected temporarily. According to what I have read on the inner web, these codes mean trans pressure out of range forward and reverse. Checked F/R pressure through VSM. Pressure maintains 170 PSI for both directions. 0 PSI at idle. I have cleaned the pressure transducers. I have been told that the pressure should be no greater than 150 PSI. I have read several posts on here of people having the same problems but none of them have posted the solution. I am hoping someone has had this issue and can shed some light.

Thanks Kevin,

So far I have blown the radiator out, as it was pretty stopped up. I then drained the transmission fluid. I changed the filter and filled trans to capacity with J20C Hydraulic oil as per operator manual. Fluid that was drained did not look bad and had no signs of metal. I cleared the codes. I did not see a drop in the pressure after all this. I did not see where the pressures could be changed. I went through all of the menus. I did see that you could adjust the inching valve. I did not want to mess with that though because I don't have the specs. So far it has been a week and the customer has not called. If I do get called back out, my next step will be swapping the valves as you suggested. Thanks again for the input.

you can,t change the pressures via the dash. problem will be with the proportional valves. swap them round to see if your fault changes

Hi LTSI,

Transmission pressures are normally around a160psi, you should be able to go into calibrations via the Display Switch Cluster and change the transmission pressure, this may be all that is necessary to sort the problem.
Remember to delete the fault codes logged in the error log as they may contribute to stopping the truck once they have been logged.
Check your radiator and oil cooler for be clogged up with dust and debri sometimes I think a heat problem may cause this problem.
