Clark CGC70:
Back fires...again and trans smoking

Ser# CG470L-0204-9636KF. We sent this unit into the shop to have the starter and flywheel replaced which means they had to pull the engine. When we got the unit back it was back firing again, sometimes difficult to start and the front differential would start smoking after hard use. Could the backfiring and starting problems both be caused by a bad ground? Could the smoking differential be caused by something done incorrectly when the flywheel was replaced?

I think it has internal brakes. The calipers could be hanging up causing the heat. I have seen them heat up but not smoke. I have seen the p/b being left on or stuck cause the smoke.

It's heating up at the very front bell housing, by the mast. Brake hubs are cold so I can't see the brakes dragging. Could it be something with the flywheel installation?

Where is the smoke coming from, the bell housing or way up front by the wheels? Is the parking brake dragging?
