Clark C500 SERIES:
parking brake

Hey guys, have a 1976 c500-y30, that i have been fighting the brakes on for years. Previous owner installed a mico lock for a parking brake, just removed it, now my brakes are great. Parking brake does nothing, removed cable from lever on side of torque convertor housing, lever moves bout 4 inches, no resistance. Where do i go from here?

Showing items 1 - 4 of 4 results.
I will look at my service manuals and find out
But pretty sure you have to remove motor for access that is possibly why they installed Micro brake lock in the first place

There does not appear to be a brake drum, the lever that the parking brake cable attaches to is on a shaft that goes into the side of torque convertor housing. Is the brake drum inside the housing? If so,does the engine have to be out to access it?

The micro brake lock was for park brake I have installed dozens over the years
Most older Clark's had a bell brake that was on trans right hand side that was operated by a cable , a very simple brake set up if it moved 4 inches either the cable is broken or they removed shoes when they installed the micro brake lock

I believe that there is a drum on the bottom of the transmission remove it and check the brake shoes the emergency brake is separate from the regulator brakes
