As a journalist focussed on the materials handling sector, it is difficult not to notice the regularity of news stories that detail injuries to – or worse still the deaths of – forklift operators.

Over the past week for example, without seeking them out, I have seen news of fatalities in Australia, the UK and the US. No doubt, a quick search would uncover several more.

With this in mind, in this week’s Forkliftaction News we feature Forklift Safety Day. Held this time every year in both the UK and the US, this event exemplifies the efforts being made to improve workplace safety across the sector.
