Discussion:
What Perkins in a Clark C500

Afternoon,

Need help identifying what Perkins engine came in the Clark C500-YS80, serial Y685-0056-5481FA

I know Clark has a funky way of breaking down their model and serial, but that's the info I have as written. I'm fairly certain they came with Perkins. Just no idea which one?

Thanks in advance of any and all help/direction.

Pretty sure the y110 to y155 used a perkins 4.248.

Look closely around both sides of the engine block, there will be a plate (may have been painted over at some point) or a number cast into the block.

Engine number will be in this format:- AA 12345 A 123456A

First 2 letters is family code/specific variant.
First 5 numbers is the parts build list.
Next letter is country of origin.
Final six numbers and last letter is serial number and year of build.

If you give me that number I'm sure I've got a chart somewhere to break down the number info or just type 'perkins engine numbers' in Google - the info isn't that hard to find.

The chart I have/had used to tell you the engine number locations as well.
