Code 48

Does anyone know how to cure a code 48? I think this is a contactor issue for forward and reverse? Can someone confirm.

Thanks

Code 48- most of the time it's just the contactor coils that have built up a little resistance causing a slower pull-in time. Also check the pintle ( stem ) on the rear of the armature, if it's broken off it will not guide in well. When I rebuild these I clean all parts with contact cleaner before reassembly. If these contactors have the filters on them, check the resistance. I have replaced 4 or 5 in the past year. If you suspect the contactor - replace it. Code 24 & 48 are more common if the FC. I would guess it is due to the higher drive motor draw. There is also a fan kit available that cools the contactor panel- good for rough applications.
