Discussion:
blown seals

I have a SA that blows the seals on the mini mast lift cyl , I have changed out the kits and gone as far as a new cly. It runs well and does not hit the limits , anyone with some ideas.

I've seen a couple of odd ball things cause seals to blow out- excessive temps- How hot does the oil get in this cyl compared to the other cyl's?, Environment- How is the surface this unit rides on- smooth or moderately bumpy? Tires- same as enviroment. Operator- is he/she constantly "bumping" the hoist cyl up & down rather than smoothly operating the hoist.

Customers love technology- until they have to pay to fix it!
What is the pressure relief set to? You should be around 2000psi.
I would start there.. if the prop valve was bad and the cylinder had no deceleration it should still not blow the seal out.

The word "robotics" was coined by Russian-born American science-fiction writer Isaac Asimov who first used the word in 1942 in his short story 'Runabout'. He characterised robots as helpful servants and as "a better, cleaner race."
