Discussion:
IMHX - United Kingdom

I have had the opportunity to visit a small number of materials handling trade shows during the past years. The biggest ones I visited were CeMAT in Hannover-2002 and IMHX in Birmingham/UK-2004. They were both very well organised and of international caliber. I was wondering if any one could advice me on trade shows of the same international significance in the Americas, Asia or anywhere else? -

Showing items 1 - 6 of 6 results.
I am thinking about attending the Promat 2005 in Chicago. Would you advice me to go there? I am mainly interested in forklifts and exhibitors from the US.
What were the other bad things at NA2004?
I really would like to get a good impression of the show because I have to come over from Germany hoping it is worth the way travelling.

Would be nice to here some suggestions.

Having visited both the IMHX in Birmingham and the NA2004in Cleveland, personally I believe that transportation services and venue location were certainly much better at NA2004 - however in regards to onsite amenities and quality of the exhibits I would have to rank the IMHX first.

Myself with FSIP recently exhibited at the MHIA NA2004 show in Cleveland OH, USA. The show was in the outskirts of town and traffic and transportation was fine. The show lasted 4 days so the first two days were well attended, but the last two days really started getting slow. As more of a service provider (Electronic Control Remanufacturing) we didn't get quite the traffic as persons showing new items. Look forward to Promat 2005 in Chicago.

Crufts is the internationally renowned pedigree dog show. As for horrendous journeys to the show - normally it would take 1hr to get to the show from Gloucester but it took a total of 3 hrs! I have been advised that the IMHX show will not coincide with any major show in 2007 so traffic congestion should not be a problem.

We recently exhibited at IMHX and found it to be a very good source of new customers and found the whole show of a very high standard in terms of the stands and the professional manner in which it was organised. There was however one drawback - the traffic congestion as a result of the show simultaneously running alongside Crufts!
