Discussion:
Terex/Genie 5519 equal to what?

I'm looking at a 5519 for farm use. I'm wondering if there are comparable models of different brands & if so what are the makes & models? I want something with a small footprint. Thanks in advance.

OK, let's assume a 5519 is an apple. I'm asking if anyone knows of similar apples. I'm in an area where we don't have access to dealers that carry lifting machines so I just have to judge by pics and specs. Like you say the 438000 results on Google don't help pare down the options very well.

as telehandlers go they are unique in thier own sense
a piggyback lift may be the closest thing to what he has there but i think he is asking for a comparison to other telehandlers.

i did a simple google search and came up with 438,000 results for 'compact telehandlers' from all brands out there.

genie, jlg, cat, jcb, skytrak, bobcat, Case, New Holland, John Deere and the list goes on.

he is just going to have to do his own homework and call these people and get info and pricing on these and decide what he wants.
plain and simple

and in all fairness swoop is correct, these are not 'forklifts'
persay, they might have forks on them but in my world at cat they are classified as 'heavy equipment' and only the heavy equipment division are allowed to work on these.

kind of wonder in what manners the Original poster expected as far as answers to "equal to what?"
Manitou and JLG (and a couple of other brands) also makes a few '-compact- telehandlers'. they all have some things in common and some things not common, and I often think anyone looking at one of these compact telehandler might consider a 'truck mounted' brand (Piggyback, spyder, teledyne, moffett) as able to do the same job most often, and may be even easier to get from site to site.

In my (not always) humble opinion, no one is answering his question because no one understands what he is asking for, which sounds to me like he wants an expert opinion of how apples compare to oranges with information about which orange is an apple.
I hope we have either answered his concern, or gotten to a spot we can clarify the question.

There is a Terex plant here in Rock HIll SC that produces some of these, and I have, in the past, been the guy that took care of their industrial trucks. (in the plant they used sit down counterbalanced forklifts). I have also worked on a number of both compact and regular telehandlers.

i've seen plenty of telehandlers and even serviced one or two but i've never seen any in the compact series. At least not in the class range you first mentioned 5519.

..... or just google caterpillar and JLG telehandler

cat has a telehandler series
