Discussion:
brake problem

Every couple of months I get on my forklift and it has no brakes. Under the lift will be a puddle of the brake fluid. What would cause the brake fluid to empty out of the bottom and why does it only do it every couple of months? There isn't a slow leak, it just all comes out at once... thanks for any help you can give... ADAM

Since the fluid is in the center I would suspect a faulty master cyl. When the master cyl is empty- describe your filling/bleeding procedure.

I wold suspect that there's a leak which takes a month or so to empty out because of your low usage.

Usage is very low sometimes only once a week for 10-15 minutes... The fluid is more in the center of the machine.

Thank You for your response... ADAM

What is the usage like on your lift (daily, monthly etc)? Is the brake fluid pool under one of the wheels or more in the center of the machine?
