Discussion:
Low torque

On this Cat EP20KT, ETB5B
Rebuilt drive motor.
Replaced drive card.
No trouble code.
Drive good when drive wheels off ground.
But low torque when driving on ground.
10 miles off ground, 1 mile on ground.
Can anyone help ?

no, I mean a micro switch under the floorboard, somewhat "nestled" under the lever that moves when you push the brake pedal down. it may have lost the shiny lever part of the switch.

check not -ONLY- parking, but foot pedal brake switch too.
code 10 was most likely a drive motor, my book says it is the right motor armature circuit.
the low power, with no codes, I still think is the foot brake switch circuit.

this truck had a code 10. then was found left side drive motor burnt, so it was rebuilt. right motor seems good. also found drive card bad, new card put on.
just checked parking brake switch, is fine.

this is almost for sure the brake (park of foot pedal) switch or the circuit to it.
On this unit, the brake switch does not completely cut off traction, it just cuts out power from the drive circuit so much so that you can not make it up a ramp.

Hi hellokitty,
The armature can be the cause to this problem. Usually the drive motor will run freely with no load, but when put on load, the motor will either run slow or not run at all.

Fact of the week
The dot-com bubble, a period of large and rapid investments in internet-based companies, peaked in 2000 and saw the Nasdaq Composite index rise by 579%. Then the bubble imploded. As the value of tech stocks plummeted, cash-strapped internet start-ups became worthless and collapsed.
