5000 lb Boxcar Specials??

Do these even exist? A guy was emailing around looking for one with a S/S and 83/189" and 5000-5500 capacity. I thought these were only available in above 8000 lb. Have you guys ever seen one that was 5000 lb?

Never heard of one. Many years ago the box car special was made in a 6K, 7K 6K, 10K , 12K (Paper Roll Handling Special) capacity (cushion tire). Designed around handling 4x8 sheets of plywood in 40"6" inside length box cars - this maybe part of history now. Most plywood bundles range in weight from 2600 to 3200 lbs. With a bundle of 3/4" Marine grade plywood being the heaviest. Common lift heights were 197" triple stage. Of course, & the PRS unit was for working paper rolls inside box cars & only sold for use w/ PRC and used to handle 6500 lb - 60" dia rolls (almost part of history too)
Possibly this guy is look for a unit with a net lift capacity of 5 to 5.5K with triple,, side shift. You might ask
