Buncha 12v marine batts to make 24v Lift Battery

Need to replace 24v lift battery. Why not a slew of 12v long life batts in series and parallel to get the amps up to replace mucho $$ forklift battery?

Thanks for opinions!

Battery tested at 16V.
Added 1lb epsom salts + 1/2gal. distilled water.....Voltage went to 18V.
Charged with desulfator(115v AC to 1/2amp DC Capacitor)...battery went to 20V.
Big charger then recognized battery and pumped it up to 24V.

Hardly any POWER (amp/hr) in battery however. Needs more powerful desulfator with 50MFD capacitor instead of 10. Will not give up.

Reason for first question: Folks are taking the electric motors out of forklifts and putting them in electric cars with monster (marine)battery banks and going 50mph.

plus you won't have enough amp-hr capacity to drive to the closest 7-11 to get a cup of coffee. You pay for what your get.
This concept is done to move electric forklifts arroud a service shop but no for testing or lifting.

the weight of the battery -is- the counterweight, this is why the minimum battery weight is noted on the capacity plate information.
you will seriously remove capacity and turn stability if your battery does not weigh enough.

"it's not rocket surgery"
in my opinion.
the matter is. amp-hr capacity and weight.
by using a slew of batteries is hardly possible to get it in the same room. to much labor to acomodate them and to much cables to service whe need to remove.
