Discussion:
container pins on trailers

Hi there,

Is anyone out there working with automated container pins?
(as in lock on/ lock off on the trailers not spreaders)

All the time i have spend waiting for truck drivers to change the pins over, have left me wondering if they could not be activated from the truck drivers cab instead.
I know the drivers like the idea, but is anyone actually using this system?

As the designated bulkrun loader at various yards and ports in Australia (nsw/wa/qld) and with sometimes well over 300 containers a shift ,waiting for the truckies gave me an idea wich then did not come of the ground because in Australia its not legal to make the changeover to automated ones.

So is it any different on an other continent?
let me know what you think.
