Discussion:
Automation

From the looks of the products displayed at MODEX this year, it would appear that the world of automation and robotics has fully arrived in the US material handling industry. What percentage of the overall ITA would you guess that these products and solutions will be, in 2023? I'm guessing about 5%, interested in your thoughts.

As for your question about what percentage of the overall ITA (Industrial Truck Association) market these automation and robotics solutions might represent in 2023 - while official figures can vary based on how segments are categorized, a reasonable estimate based on trends and reporting would put automation and robotics solutions at around 10-15% of the total ITA-related market by 2023.

That includes AGVs (automated guided vehicles), AMRs (autonomous mobile robots), robotic arms for picking/packing, and integrated warehouse automation systems. And that share is growing fast - projections suggest it could double within just a few years as ROI and labor challenges push more companies to adopt.
