Discussion:
Toyota PCV Valve? - Intermittent No Start

I'm working on a Toyota LP truck and was wanting to replace the PCV valve. Ordered new valve from our parts dept. and the one that was shipped to me was incorrect. I tried going to the local parts store and match up a new valve with the old one, but they could not figure out what the correct part number was. Unfortunately there are no numbers on the old valve... we tried looking up PCV valves for early model Chevrolet Vortec 4.3L engines, but everything he looked up looked wrong also. Contacted parts dept. back and had them get with Toyota and get me a OEM part... unfortunately they came back with the same part number of the valve that had already been sent to me. The PCV valve that is on the truck currently measures about.47 inches. The valve that was sent is too big in diameter. The part number of the valve that was ordered is 12204-U3161-71
I hoping someone out there has seen this valve before and knows where we can pick one up from.

Truck has a starting issue. Truck will intermittently not start. Only way truck will start is if you remove the vacuum line to the PCV valve... after removing hose, you still have to turn the engine over for a bit but it finally will clear out and start. Hook the hose back up and will start normally for days or weeks... until it does it again. I feel like the engine is flooding with LP fuel, but I don't have any info on this particular engine or any way to test. Was going to replace the fitting in the plenum, PCV, and hose and then go from there. The fuel convertor, mixer, and throttle body all have been replaced recently by other techs. If anyone has any info on these issue... I would appreciate any feedback.
