Discussion:
Steering

I have a Bil-Jax ESP19 that will only steer in one direction. Everything else on the machine works good. The motor comes on but it doesnt turn to the right only the left. I disconnected one of the lines to the hydraulic ram so the fluid could come out and turned the wheels all the way to the left then reconnected the line and it steered to the right when the button was pushed but wont turn back to the other direction. It has 4500 hrs on it. 24V electric.

Old post for those who may look in the future. On he control valve of this unit there are two plugs, below the steering relief valves, behind these plugs are springs. These springs tend to break and keep the unit from steering. Good advice, replace both springs when you do it. You can also go to bil-jax web site and download service and parts manuals for this machine. Be sure you know whether it is an original or a refurb as some parts are different.
