Thanks Swoop,found it on the cylinder shell
but unfortunately no screw inside & the
port is blocked into internal cylinder ,maybe
by seal or bushing.Trying to get hydraulic
company who did overhaul to go out on
site to see the problem
yes like mrfixit said, look for a small screw in the top of the center cylinder, sometimes they put a bleed screw on the side of the cylinder shell so i'd look in both places but generally they put it where it will release the air from the best location where it gets trapped which in most cases is the last section that gets oil.
When you bleed the air out (once you find this screw) only lift it up a couple feet off the ground and only crack the screw till the air starts coming out. If you loosen it too much it could pop out and then you will have a big mess on your hands so be careful.

Told them to use it a couple of weeks hoping any air will find it's way out.
There may be a air bleed screw right in the top of the center chrome shaft.
Hi guys, I know this is an old post but hopefully you can help me.I have had one of these 3 stage telescopic cylinders re-worked.
Took it to a hydraulic specialist who had all rams re-chromed,new seals made up.Fully stripped & re-built
When fitted back onto truck there seems to be an air lock that wont clear.Lifts to highest extent & holds.Okay until upper section is lowered into larger,outer section which will slowly drop an inch or so when lever is released.But then holds load.
There is a small outlet on top of main cylinder body (about 1/4 inch internal diameter with fine thread)
I think this is maybe a vent hole ,but there is no screw within ,but if a small screwdriver is pushed up the hole it is possible to feel a hole into the main cylinder body ,but nothing comes out.
I have tried fully extending ,up & down for about an hour but will not clear.

anyway yes if you can find the number on the cylinder (as was mentioned usually stamped around the top near the packing nut) then you might get a packing kit

The cylinder number is stamped into the top of the cyl tube. Really clean the top of the tube & you'll find it. This is the number you need to know which packing is installed.
If memory is serving me right- the triple stage upright had a telescoping hoist cyl. If I'm correct, repacking is best left to a hydraulic shop- they're not a straight forward repacking job as a simple cylinder is.

Took a quick peek at the micro fiche on this one and there are a few different cylinders listed for your mast. You would need to locate the part number on the actual cylinder to identify the correct kit. The item number you gave is not listed for that model of truck. Only other option is what Swoop has offered.
unless you can find someone with a hard copy of the parts manual for this truck i doubt you will find any info on it.
your best bet is to remove the cylinder and take it and have it repaired at a cylinder repair shop. They can find the packing or have it made for it.
This is a very old truck and the information for it is not published anywhere other than maybe the factory where they probably have it ratholed on a shelf in the corner of a dark warehouse and even they might balk at hunting it down but it might be worth a shot getting a dealer to locate it unless they are the ones hanging up on you :o/
