Discussion:
NACCO people changes

Is NACCO shuffling there people again, new job assignments, pink slips for others. With new Mgt things always change with the same results. Share is flat.

Brogan is winding down. It's the Wilson-Rankin show!
They believe they can grow Class II and III their share in Class I, IV and V is flat. Dealers can only absorb so much in their Rental Fleets.

National Accounts is a rotating door.

They rarely promote or develop top people from the inside. If they have an opening they run around and try to hire someone from a competitor. Extra points if the person golfs with Colin. It rarely works out. People have come from MCFA, Crown, now Raymond, Toyota, you name it. Flavor of the month management. Lots of good people hidden back in the wings, waiting for retirement but passed over in various re-orgs.

Total chaos and disorganization in their national account group and dealer marketing side. You could easily blame Wall Street pressure but they are becoming a 100% internally focused group vs client focused IMO

If you look at NACCO's history, they reorganize every 3 years plus or minus. Their share has gone down from where it was in the late 90's and early 2000's. They keep trying to change their downward spiral by changing the mid level managers and some select senior managers however their real problems lie at the top. If you look at the positions that have been consistent in their market share erosion you will see that senior management of the lift truck organization has not changed. Recently they did hire a couple of senior managers from one of their competitors however the people above them who are the same ones responsible for the company's decline are the same. I would be surprised if the results change on a consistent basis without changes at the very top level positions.

With the Sales and Marketing reorganization at NACCO, there are lots of resumes in the field. People moving on and others retiring even early. Job assignments have others frustrated, not in the right slots. The dealers are just ho hum....wait a few months and things will change again.

They usually move the chairs around every few years. Young and inexperienced seems to be the direction.
