well my first thought was you may have connected the power cables to the motor incorrectly but since you have moved them and nothing changed it could be something inside the motor.
Make sure the motor is the same part number, also i would compare that motor to the one that came off of it.
Possible they sent you the wrong one tagged incorrectly?

got a reman motor for the right side that was clicking--installed it--now the motor travels in reverse when it is suppose to go forward--has four poles--switched the top two wires--nothing happened--switched the bottom two--and the motor still travels backward--switched the two outside wires still backward--switched the middle two--still backward. any ideas???????? that would be the sound of the brushes going across the com bars on the armature.
usually when the motor is stalled or over-rev'd it can heat up the armature and cause the resin and insulation holding the com bars in place to soften and the com bars will raise up. When this happens the brushes will make that noise when they move across the uneven surface.
What happens when this occurs is the brushes may jump off the surface of the armature briefly and cause the system to trigger an error, usually an open motor circuit error.

On rare occasions you can repair the armature but most of the time the damage is irreversible and the armature has to be replaced because once the com bar separation has occured it will continue to get worse. Cutting the surface back down even does not help as the bars will keep coming out.

You can get a brush stone set and clean it up if its not too bad and buy yourself some time but in the end the armature will probably need to be replaced.

How do you lift a toyota cb with a crane forkingabout? Correct me if I'm wrong but don't they say to sling the top of the outer mast frame and sling under the rear tires? I was staring at one of those stickers on a toyota forklift not 5 minutes ago...

Kinda goes against what your saying.

Mast mounting & pivot points are not designed to take the stresses of lifting & supporting the truck.

Toyota training stipulates NOT to lift a counter balance using the blocks under mast method.

yes, i'm curious about that potential damage thing too.
I've been doing it for years, as long as you place the blocks correctly underneath the outside channel there is nothing to damage.

The only possible thing that could happen that might cause damage to something would be if the tech ran the motors wide open with no load on them, then the armature windings might separate from the high rpm's but that would only be because the tech was just inexperienced ignorant to the fact that could happen.

Toyota always train there technicians NOT to lift the front of the machine by putting blocks under the mast & tilting as it can cause damage, its always best to jack & block the truck from the correct points.

get some blocks and put them underneath the mast channels and tilt forward, get the front wheels off the ground.
run the truck and see if it does it when there is no load on wheels.
try to determine if its a mechanical lock or electrical problem causing the wheel(s) to lock up.
Also when it does this does the display show any errors?
an electrical fault may cause a motor to lock down causing this abrupt stop.

When your driving do you hear anything in the wheel area? like something loose making noise while u drive?
what does the brake pedal feel like when you stop?

it could be some part of brake hardware came loose and is getting wedged in the shoes if it is mechanical.

Hi guys

installed orbital valve--steering is great-- now there is a sudden stop of the right wheel--travels about 15 feet before it stops--then it continues moving another 15 feet--both motors have had new brushes installed--any ideas????
