my u-joint in my steering keeps breaking.... no matter what I do , this ride is back in the shop every week. I've tried shimming it , greasing it and everything... any suggestions to why I may be having this ongoing issue ?"

the tire was just one scenario i've seen cause these kind of issues on units like this before, since there are other units that are not doing it then that may not be the cause.
knowing this i would look elsewhere, steering bearing, steering relief pressure, anything that would create enough force to break the joint or cause it to be out of alignment enough to bind it up and eventually break.
It has rubber. I have 6 of this model , but this one seems to be the only one giving me issues. I've used a couple oem parts and aftermarket. This is probably about the 5th time in the past couple months.
are you using OEM parts? or aftermarket (TVH) part?
my thought is either a lesser quality aftermarket part or an alignment issue. Could be something in the steering gear or steer unit binding up putting too much stress on it. Even something as simple as the incorrect type tire on the steer wheel(s) can cause excess strain on the system and cause something to break. Rubber tires are pretty hard on these types of steering units, does it have rubber or is it poly?
