Stall test procedures

hello all,
i have a Hyster H80XL serial G005D02562P this truck is very sluggish and has a hard time pulling a ramp. i am suspecting that we have a torque converter problem.
could anyone e-mail me the stall test procedures on this truck?

I think john missed the "not" and a zero. as in "if the engine is near top rated speed of 2200 rpm and the wheels are NOT spinning, then you have a problem with the torque converter, and in truth, if your converter is broken, it is more likely that your engine will not be able to get to it's max rated speed while in gear

The torque converter should reach stall at approximately the max. torque rating speed (rpm) of the engine. That should be some where around 1500-1600 rpm. If the engine speed is above that and close to the governed speed of 220 rpm (as Ed T stated) and the wheels are spinning then you have an issue in the converter.

Simple, pull it up against a solid wall or loading dock, put the carriage up against the wall or dock. Put it in forward slowly press the throttle to the floor, if the tires spin your converter is locking, if your getting 3 to 4 thousand rpms at the engine and the wheels arent spinning the converter is shot.
