Seems to be a common problem with Crown products. They are amazing machines when they run but a bit weak on their electrical harness design. Wish we could post pics of repair on here.
Glad to hear. I've always wanted info. from the driver about when it happens the most cuz just like a woman there's never a problem when you're around they always seem to have issues after you leave.
Finally found the issue......there was a spot in the main harness that had rubbed thru making a short on the brake switch, causing it the look like it was closed.....the only time it would short out is when the unit would be shaken (on the trailer, in and out of dock plates, uneven floors)
Do you think the contractor has got a bad spot on the tips and causing it to not close sometimes? Even though you replaced the harness have you looked at the pins inside the connector and closed them up some just in case they weren't making good contact?
it happens only in startup. our units are programmed to shut off after being idle for 5 minutes, so startup during the day happens a lot. the switch harness has been replaced. the switches are not out of sequence, since the handle is up, the switches are open. the bushings in the tiller arm are good. that's why this issue has me baffled. everything is where it should be, and only intermittently, it shows an SRO code when unit is started. once it is able to go through the startup process, the unit runs fine.
Either your switches are out of sequence or the actuator arm might be causing the issue or maybe the bushings in the tiller arm. Have you removed the two switches and tester for continuity while opening and closing them? You might want to trace the wires from switches to controller while moving the handle like your turning it from left to right to duplicate operator use. When does it trip out? Is it when your driving, lifting or lifting while driving. Try to get specific info. from the driver.
the only code that is displayed is SRO on the B.D.I......no red wrench or any other service codes pop up.
