Slow movement

Hi
New ring gear put in forklift, back together, won't move backwards or forwards. Engine went back in clean. gas forklift 1986 model, mazda engine. Any help much appreciated.

Lesson to all especially me... Wrong dipstick. ignored it filled to level bung next to filter and it has worked fine ever since. many thanks to all who commented.

If these sypmtoms came only after the ring gear, I would check all wiring (for pinching), connectors & grounds. Does sound like an electric issue

Hi thanks for taking the time to reply. You can sit on the truck and suddenly it will now work intermittently and someone else at work said it may be a switch, I never thought of electronic, thanks very much for the pointer. I will let you know for the benefit of all...

assuming the truck ran ok before the ringgear job
i'd go back and retrace the steps you took during reassembly
check wiring connections to transmission, ecm, check fuses, there should be a fuse controlling the transmission, make sure its not blown.

Its a Hyster hs50xl 1986 gas converted Mazda engine.
