gl l duodeluxe second reason means if the truck is equipped with a hydraulic powered attachment like a side shifter additional hoses are required and the hoses needs to be reeved thru the mast often over the lfit chains for improved visibility. When this is done the plastic inserts in the chains will have a guide or clamp formed into it which the hosing can stay on tract as the chain move when the lift cylinders extend & retract.
Hope this doesn't confuse you
Try the link below, it should take you to the different types of chain with plastic inserts which are currently available.

From your description I think the chain is CTPLL 866.

Thank you duodeluxe
I could not understand the second purpose in your reply.
To everyone..
I am familiar with the notation of the common leaf chains (e.g 4x4, 6x6, 3x4...), but I do not know how to notate this new combination of leaves (e.g 6x6 chain which has this plastic as a central link all along).
Thanks
Yes, the plastic serves two purposes. One is to protect the lift cylinder rod from getting dings in it from a slack chain and the other is for a guide for the attachment hoses.
Thank you Peter,
This seems to be a usefull info, I will check it as you recomanded.
Guideon
I think the chains are the same as a linde one with plastic inserts in the middle , if you look on the side of the link they should be a number example le 844 if you phone then up with this number and truck details they will be able to sort you out. The plastic insert is use to stop the chain whipping against the chrome on the lift cylinder and to keep on the pulley.
Pete
Thank you Peter, but I could not find what I am lookink for at the site you sent.
