Discussion:
Runs then stops

My lift will run a little while and then stops. It will go up and down but no motion.
If I wait a little while then it will work again. It appears to be overheating maybe?
I am wondering if there is a temperature sensor on the hydraulics that might be going bad or other thoughts?
I do not have a user or service manual or any wiring diagrams. If anyone knows of somewhere to order these or a reasonable place I would appreciate that as well.
Thanks,
Bob

You need to test your battery voltage, while using the lift motor or drive motor.
If your voltage drops more than 15%, something is wrong with the battery.

Lots of people ignore watering industrial batteries.
Open the battery cell caps and take a good look at each cell; water as needed.

Strong in mind, Strong in Health.
This does have a foot, puck, dead man switch. I recently replaced this as the contacts were getting a bit corroded. I did also find a service manual on ebay and purchased it. I went through the brake section and it talked about the air gap between the brake and the electromagnet. I checked and mine was up around 0.050". I adjusted the gap back down to 0.020-0.025". I had high hopes that this was it. It did not fix the issue. I also pulled and cleaned all the connectors going to the main brake and control board. It is still stopping after it runs a short period and definitely gets worse when it gets hotter in the shop. I'm trying to find where the brake temp sensor is or what the part number is to order a replacement. It plugs in just above the TP6, TP7 inputs but is not labeled on the brake controller? The part says Elmwood 92/33 3100U 235-33 L280.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you. Bob

30sp36TT is an older model, do you have an electric puck foot pedal or the older push down pedal with a hydraulic brake slave on the drive unit?

I will suppose you have the newer version, so That should be an EV100 -EV100LX system when you lose travel do the contactors close?

Does the brake disc click and disengage?

I would presume if its lifting and lowering that the battery still has some decent juice, is it noticeably slower in lifting when this happens?

Are you lifting and traveling forward at the same time when this takes place? As that would put a massive draw on the battery and the EV 100 would see the voltage drop and PMT.

PMT = Pulse Monitor Trip

There is no thermal protector on the lift circuit, but there is one on the 1 rec and the brake coil.

I am sorry i need more info to be of more help.

With a multi meter connected to positive and negative on the battery, what does the voltage drop too when traveling and lifting.
