Lost tilt and sideshift.... No Codes...pump running ( moans as though going over reflief valve ) mast twin hoses feel/appear to be pressuring up.
Voltage to valve solenoid on the carriage is 0 when tilting either up or down, and BAT + when sideshifting.
I'm stuck... leaning towards changing hydraulic valve on the carriage.
A new one has 62 ohms resistance on the coil, and the existing one is 60 ohms pretty close?
This has happened twice before and while we were playing around trying different things it mysteriously started working again... sometimes for many months.
Like I say I'm grasping at straws.

Mast cable was bypassed with a new one - probably the 1st thing we tried...no change. Replaced entire main hydraulic control valve and haven't had the problem happen since. ( Touch wood )
Ok, thats good advice.
That valve doesn't look cheap !!
This has happened before, maybe it will get better ?? (probably worse )
Like I said sometimes months go by and no issues.
Thanks for all the advice and ideas, I really appreciate the help !!
I have heard from other technicians sometimes the valve spool can have a slight burr on it & jam.
BT say that valve for side shift & tilt in the main valve block isn't replaceable & there are NO replacement parts listed for it either.
I do know from a colleague it is possible to take the spool out & remove the burr to stop the spool jamming BUT be warned you risk ruining the complete valve block if you get it wrong / break it in the process.
Oil changed filter changed twice - 6306 hours- no issues with flter. Maybe should be changing more frequently ? Machine 18 months old.
This is a busy place and I'm stretched pretty thin.
Checked filter it is fine.
Anyway.... last resort took a brass drift and while activating side shift, tapped on the main control valve and bingo - away she goes. I'm gonna change oil and filter immediately and hope like heck the whole system isn't contaminated !!
The valve in the main valve block that feeds the side shift & tilt function is NON replaceable - it would be a complete replacement main valve block.
When was the hydraulic oil & filter last replaced?
I have come across RRE before where hydraulic oil & filter has been replaced by an in house technician & someone had removed the complete filter assembly & just fitted the replaceable green coloured element insert back in to the tank but without the metal outer jacket.
That in turn trashed the hydraulic system with debris when the filter element exploded.
Spool looks clean and unscored etc. no broken springs , gunk, all nice and clean
Could the problem be on the main valve body ? reach and lift work fine.
2 ton spec mast on this one due to lift height.
The no change in emergency mode means we are looking at a hydraulic OR mechanical issue.
Have you had the carriage valve apart yet?
There are seal overhaul kits available for these as well as solenoid assembles.
You might find it easier to work on it with the fork carriage removed.
no change in emergency mode
unit has both auto center and auto level, mast height collapsed is 140 inches extended 360 inches
Pressure is actually making it to the side shift hoses.... they are swelling when lever ia activated and yet tilt and side shifter wont move ??? It's got to be a bad carriage valve or return oil issues in the main valve ??
Hi
Does this truck have auto centring on the sideshift OR auto tilt levelling fitted?
Will the truck tilt / sideshift in emergency mode?
The overmast cable used to be a common failure on these but the later spec cables are much better.
Being an RRE 200, what lift height is the mast as there is a choice of 2 different mast specifications.
