Discussion:
Reverse Alarm 335 series.

We have been requested to install a reverse alarm to a Linde E16C S/N 335J (1998).

It's not immediatly obvious where we can take a tap off to power in reverse only and something makes me think i've had a conversation regarding switching on a setting in the control panel (although could be miles off).

Does anyone have a wiring diagram they could send to me for this machine, or any info that would point us in the right direction (so to speak :-) ).

Hi Juan,

Thank you very much for your reply, you can see my e-mail address in the Forum contact card, alternatively use "dez at andytruc dot com".

We have a YOM 2000 Linde E14-02 (335 series) with a twin forward reverse pedal in the depot, but it has a different control system to the one we are looking at for the customer. If i sent you a picture of the control panel on the customers truck, would you be able to identify what you were saying.

If it is the model with an old steering lever from what I see, it was not designed to install a reverse gear, what was done was to put a microswitch and a mechanical device welded under the same lever with a totally individual installation of The electronics of the machine, maybe I can send you some diagram, if you leave me the mail as soon as I can I will send you something, greetings

You need to connect a drive relay. The controller has a dedicated output for this. Look under the bonnet for a harness with a few free wires. The brown one is the output circuit for the relay, otherwise you'll have to open the controller plug and tap off it. If you are lucky, the parameter setting will be set to drive the relay when reverse is selected otherwise you can change the parameter setting with truckdoctor. The relay is only activated when the forward/reverse lever is put in reverse AND the accelerator is pressed. The relay can be installed under the cover on top the bonnet.

Thanks for your input Juan.

What you say makes sense so we'll take our programmer and have another look.

The micro switch on the direction lever stays active in netural, and doesn't lose its control until re-selecting forward drive - so eliminates that as a possibility.

Don't suppose you would have a wiring diagram for that machine ?

98 models, there may be 2 types, if it is with a control unit, it is on PIN 16, negative signal output (put 24v relay with protection diode) but it is activated by TRUCK DOCTOR menu option 3, if it is an old model without TRUCK connection doctor is better to do independent installation with micro pedalboard.
