so are you saying that you have to turn the steering wheel alot to get the steer wheels to move? Do they turn when sitting still? or does the truck have to be moving?

it sounds to me like either a bad orbitrol valve in the steering column or possibly a faulty steer cylinder.

Possibly could be a priority valve issue.

taking pressure readings would be your first priority
