sorry for late reply didn't see this
some electric forklifts with ac motors are now using the hydraulic pressure when lowering to drive the pump and motor for regen, the pump motor power amp controls all the current generated and sends it back to the battery.
i have only seen one so far and it was a raymond turret truck, the operators said it would run a shift and a half, i never bothered to confirm that.
lower assist is new to me and seems redundant but i'm not an engineer.
