Well said Ed T- you are correct. There have only been a couple of issues where I had to have the dealer "read" the on board computer.
As an older tech I've had to really wrap my head around the new way the electronics handle the operation of newer lifts. If you take your time & use good old fashioned diagnostics skills (& get advise from this site) there's really not much you can't handle w/out the scan tools
