Ok.... I hear you on how bad a unfamiliar guy can screw these things up. We already in just 2 weeks had a Code 2:004 ( error between CID & MCU ) and had the service guy come out and correct. It's warranty but because of our location , it's $400 dollars CAD, everytime he shows up " travel time " !
The service guy and I plugged my old Can Key in to the new machine and it would not let me change fork lowering speed.... just view it ?? The new parts book has the same P/N for the CanKey as the one on my CanKey ? But we had to use TruckCom and lap-top to actually change the lowering speed parameter?
Which gets me back to thinking that sooner than later I'm gonna have to acquire this TruckCom.
Yes, these units are non-tilting cabs, our old ones were tilters but we found the operators didn't use it... it's a expensive option. And yes coldstore and full cab.
There are not many of these units in all of Canada, and very few sold out of this dealer.... so I tend to know more about the units than they do, not bragging... just the way it is. We can't afford to pay travel time , so I gotta figure them out.
I did OK for 9 years with the old models but these new ones seem WAY more complex ??
Thanks for your help !!
Is TruckCom a proprietary BT thing ??
