Thank you for all that. The only thing that has been done is injection pump removed, rebuilt, and replaced. On the crank pulley, there are markings. It appears to be 0 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 0, using the 1's as lines. Not sure, how to determine TDC according to these marks. I have rotated the pump in the direction of engine rotation several times hunting what I need, however, I don't detect much change. As in the engine starts, heavy fuel smoke, lazy(as in retarded). Even if you attempt to change the angle of the pump while engine is running, it is hard to detect any significant change in the performance of the engine. Again, the pump has been rebuilt by a very reputalbe enity.
