We had a recurring issue with breaking starter nose cones. We eventually installed the delay module and everything worked fine. Abour 3-4 weeks later, the engine does the same thing. As soon as the module kicks the spark in, it fires irratically and the engine fights the starter motor. When we back the timing off to almost negative degrees it starts a little easier but still not perfect.
Would this be an issue with a worn out engine? There does not seem to be anything we can do to prevent the odd firing. Modules, whole distributors, nothing seems to change it.
Any ideas?
