There is a VDI cycle used to measure fuel consumption for combustion engine trucks and although the cycle is not always a true representation of actual applications, especially for trucks over 5 ton in capacity, it does provide a benchmark to compare different brands. All manufacturers can provide this information upon request.

Does anybody know whether forklift manufacturers have used a VDI cycle to measure electrical power consumption for comparison purposes?

Any comments or feedback would be most appreciated.
