Actually, engine is out and the there are no flexplate bolts to take out so the starter could have stayed in. I took the top inspection plate off the trans and had a good peek in there anyways. The torque convertor came off with the flex pate and wasn't a big deal. I did have to remove the counterweight and lift the overhead guard a few inches but in the end it was a breeze and took just over 4 hours (with a bit of a mess on the floor ;)). The old guy still has it!
