I had F85 and F87 on my Mitsubishi FG30N with Nissan K25 engine. The engine would start but as soon as I put it in either gear (F or R) the error code would appear and the machine would not move in either direction. I found the problem to be a burned and consequently open resistor inside the VCM module. Fortunately the resistor was raised a bit above the bedding goo so I was able to use the hot tip of a soldering iron to remove the bedding material with relative ease and then lift the resistor after cutting one lead. The resistor value was.22 ohm. It looked like a 1 watt resistor. I replaced the resistor with a couple of.47 ohm 2 watt resistors wired in parallel that I had on hand. I also wired in a 5 amp fuse for good measure to prevent any high current situations from occurring in case there were more damaged components in short circuit. The fuse held and the forklift was back working with no error codes.
