Just reading this weeks news (13 January 2022) and I had to chuckle reading the article at the end by Danny Maron and his last paragraph suggesting that manufacturers do away with the "big red button" on powered pallet trucks so that when an operative gets caught between the truck and a hard place they learn their lesson of paying attention to their training (that is of course provided they had training....)

I am sure trainees on my courses go to sleep with the following words echoing in their heads:

Direction - Observation - Brake

Look where you are going not where you have been

But on a serious note I tend to agree with Danny that sometimes a painful lesson would be a good thing but you just know that if anybody did design a truck without the button then the amount of lawsuits that woud follow would probably be astronomical.

Fact of the week
The word "okay" (or its abbreviation "OK") originated as a humorous misspelling. In the 1830s, a fad in Boston involved using abbreviations of intentionally misspelled phrases. "OK" stood for "oll korrect," a playful mispronunciation of "all correct".
