Ok the shaking is the armature hitting the fields. It causes the motor to go crazy. The motor is not lined up with the drive unit. I tried actually tilting the motor pedestal and the motor quiets down. I shimmed it in that position in desperation. It lasted 2 hours and started rubbing again. I loosened the drive unit bolts and checked the dowel pins and the suffrage for cracks.
