I have a 7fgu30 4y ecs drive by wire truck. initial problem was a no start and flashing code 9. found distributor had rust build up and was shorting out to the coil causing lock off valve, idle solenoid and ETC to cycle erraticly with just key on. replaced distributor. found broken wiring at alternator and distributor which caused code 9. dropped distributor in as per service manual and also pretty much every position possible. compression is good. verified mechanical timing. truck will start with holding throttle down slightly but will not rev up and if truck is let to idle you can hear the ETC cycling sometimes and the idle abruptly jumps up. no codes on dash at this time. I have the engine wiring harness apart looking for broken wires nothing new found. still not sure if distributor that was shorting out and backfeeding could have caused other electrical components to fail. Any help would be greatly appreciated
