Time to get back to the basics. Check compression, timing, etc. If everything checks out I'd pull the valve cover off & make sure #1 cylinder is actually on TDC when the pointer on the front pulley indicates that the crank's at TDC. Remote chance the timing chain is stretched & jumped a tooth.

Also- how far will the spark jump when cranking if you hold the ignition wire close to the cyl head & what's it's color?
