could battery be grounded to its case?

my 5fbc25 has been down for months,wont move or lift ,steering is fine, flashes code CO when accelerator is pressed all the way down, while checking the battery the other day i noticed that if i check continuity between my positive termal and the battery steel case, i get totall connectivity, on my ohms meter, is this normal?

what voltage? some volts to chasis is ok...co code is drive circuit abnormality...check contactor tips,loose wires,transistors...
