Discussion:
Removing Power Steering Cylinder

Hi all, first post here in a couple of years. We have a Hyster E30XL at work that started leaking fluid out of the Power steering cylinder. So we're looking for help getting the cylinder tie rods off the steering knuckle. We have the pins out (after several hours) and the tie rods are loose on the knuckle brackets but we can't get them to come out. What is the secret to removing them? Is there some kind of channel that the knuckle has to be turned a certain way and the tie rod just slides out? We did try to turn the knuckle so the tie rod was perpendicular but that didn't seem to do anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.
