Discussion:
Propane throttle body replacement

I purchased a CAT GP25K (S/N AT17C00109) on auction, knowing that it had throttle body issues on its Mitsubishi 4G63 engine. However, once I picked it up, the entire throttle body is missing. I've been told that this vintage unit has a 1-2 yr only model throttle body and they are impossible to find. Can an aftermarket propane carb be fitted, using a throttle cable to activate? Or is this impossible because of the feedback req'd for the ECM? Or, would it be better to try and obtain a later model throttle body, along with the ECM and wiring harness to retrofit. Thanks for any help or advice that can be offered.

If this is a gasoline unit then our aftermarket parts supplier has a new carb and governor assemblies available. I assume that if there is nothing on top of the manifold then they removed both of these items. One thing for sure it will be very expensive buying these parts to get it running again. Expect 2000.00 + or -
