I have a 2015 hyster 280HD2 with a check engine light. This forklift has a cummins engine and I was told it should have a odb port. I researched manual and used the key switch to try to obtain codes ,however the screen says clear and okclr. I am unable to get any codes. I have taken off the fuse box panel and no port plug or wires for me to plug in a scanner. we do have a new snap on scanner with the cummings software installed. Just no luck trying to get a code to see what is wrong. The forklift came in 2 quarts low I added oil , the oil gauge still blinks when engine light is on.the operator's manual mentioned abut the needle has to be in the middle if too high or low it will have a code. I changed the filter and needle is still a little off from center. 285 hours the forklift has, and oil was changed 35 hours ago.

It can if you have the correct connector and software.
or cummins insite can connect direct into the ecu via a plug in the engine bay
The Diagnostic connector is located in the operators compartment on the right hand side under the removeable cover, just under the seat. It is a Deutsch triangular 3 pin connector.
These trucks use a IFAK cable to read fault codes. You need Proprietary software from manufacturer to see codes through the IFAK cable. You can access the codes through the display by turning on the ign. switch without starting the truck and pressing the service switch three times for 1 second each press. You should see the faults come up on the display.
