thanks for the replies everyone. Found motor to be good. Gonna put a new controller on and see what happens. Thats the only other thing I think it could be.
I often experience the error LED flash 3.
most of the damage is zero sem, VMN short with neg batt or batt post.
and I fix it myself by replacing the existing components in the control
motor fields can cause this
if you have a second unit run extended wires to motor on another unit
Any luck finding out what caused this code 3? I had one recently that was throwing a code 3. Ohmed out the line contactor and found it to be bad. Replaced it but still throws code 3. Im guessing bad controller. What did you find?
3 Flashes=CAPACITOR CHARGE
Checked at start-up. Alarm is indicated Internal power block failure. Check all
if capacitors are not charged within fuses and wiring. Including the VMN
500 ms after key switch is closed. and battery positive termination.
Or 3 flashes= VMN NOT OK
VMN checked continuously w/contactor Shorted motor windings or incorrect
closed during operation. VMN monitors wiring of AB or AZ connections.

Test done while key is on w/contactor Open winding on motor, incorrect wiring.
