Discussion:
No Start

Hello there, I picked up a Cat GC25K that needed timing done. i did the timing and water pump and haven't had the unit running prior. the timing belt was broken, i pulled the valve cover and put it on what i believe is TDC on cyl. 1. it was difficult that the timing belt was missing and had to put the crank and cam in time separately. i believe i got it seeing as i have compression on all 4 cylinders and i had the cam timed on the only part of the loves that keeps the valves closed. my issue now is i can't seem to find the correct order of the plug wires on the distributor cap. there is no markings on the cap and i cannot source a manual for this unit. any help or ideas would be appreciated.

The firing order should be 1,4,3,2
When you get the #1 piston to TDC the back of the rotor will point to the #1 position on the distributor cap that will be your starting point.
If your rotor rotated counter clockwise place your wires on the cap counter clockwise or clockwise if the rotor rotates clockwise.

In 1898, author Morgan Robertson wrote a novel called 'Futility', which described an "unsinkable" ship named the Titan that sank after hitting an iceberg. Fourteen years later, the Titanic sank in a strikingly similar fashion.
