Discussion:
No-start 6FGCU35..distributor?

Hello there,

I was working on my Toyota lift that will not start--even if ether is used. Firing order is correct and wires good.

Well, I pulled the distributor and rotor and underneath was a star-shaped RUSTY Hall-effect sensor with an open housing. A green and white wire run from under the sensor to the black control board screwed to the distributor base. These wires are corroded, have broken insulation in several places, and have a screwed-up connector at the end that seems to make VERY loose contact with the black module.

First of all, anyone know if this could be our issue? It sure seems like it! Second, is this module a GM part (in actuality)? It's input is two wires from the Hall sensor and the output is two snap connectors...one with 2 conductors that go to the coil and the other with four conductors that go into the wiring loom.

So, to finish, MUST I buy a TOYOTA part or can GM parts be used? I checked all relays, solenoids, etc and they all seem ok.

Thanks again for your help!!!

Just found your address from before, look for another email.
It does sound like your HEI module and wiring are shot am sure a GM one would work in its place if the connectors are the same.
