No forward 8FGU32 2007

Changed fluid and filter. Fluid was thicker than normal, black and burnt smell.Swapped F & R solenoids,no difference.I was able to get forward a few times by revving rpms after a few seconds it would go.Pulled valve control cover, removed F. R. and safety valve spools.Safety valve was stuck.Applied air at forward and reverse ports.Reverse clutch engaged but also bypassed a little air. The forward clutch appeared to engage but it was blowing a lot of air out of clutch pack.Tranny has 800 hours since last service.Total hours on lift 6,210.9 ! Help would be greatly apprecieated!

Thanks forkliftcity! This unit has a history of getting hot due to dusty environment. I have replaced two head gaskets in last two years. The folks operating this lift are not keeping the radiators clean. Im looking into installing over temp. Shut down since they are ignoring temp gauge. If anyone has ideas how to proceed please advise!

means a lot of air coming out of in forward, you need to replace the clutch disc and lining. applying compressed air in forward and reverse port there's should be a "pak" sound. you mention that theres a lot of air coming out in forward clutch pack, you have a bad sealing in forward. if i were you i will replace both froward and reverse clutch pack assy.

more power to you.

Fact of the week
Some trees retain a form of biological memory of past droughts, and after surviving a dry period can change how their stomata (tiny pores on leaves) regulate water, and adjust growth patterns for years afterward.
